What types of donations can I give…
Monetary Donations:
Monetary gifts allow maximum flexibility to provide
the educational services we offer, as well as
providing necessary operating funds.
Stock Gifts:
Gifts of appreciated stock or securities are accepted
and encouraged.
Memorial or Honor Gifts:
Memorials are discretely acknowledged to the family
of the deceased. Honor gifts are made in honor
of a friend, work associate or loved one to celebrate
a birthday, anniversary, promotion or just to
let them know they are important to you.
Bequests and Planned
Gifts:
There are several types of bequests you may
want to consider:
Cash Bequest: A specific
dollar amount.
Residuary Bequest: A percentage of your
estate after specific bequests, debts,
taxes and expenses have been paid.
Specific Bequest: Specific assets such as stock,
real estate or personal property.
It is really very easy to add a codicil or provision
to your will on behalf of the CPRF with a brief
call to your attorney asking him or her to add
a sentence such as:
“I give and bequeath to CPRF, a non-profit educational
center for students located in Hartford Connecticut
the sum of $____ or ____ percentage of my residuary
estate or the following described property:______, to
be used for general purposes”.
In-Kind Donations:
What is an In-kind Donation?
The simplest definition is giving things of value instead
of money. Here at CPRF, we are always in need of teaching
and office related supplies.
Other donated items such as computer hardware and software
or office furniture help defray operating costs, allowing
us to focus more of our resources directly on the students
we serve.
Volunteering:
Volunteering is a wonderful way to express your support
for CPRF's mission.
When you volunteer, you learn new things, come into
contact with people you might never have met, and
become a part of empowering future business professionals
in a way that will make a true difference.
Volunteering is free and only takes a small investment
of time and energy to yield a big return. Volunteer
opportunities at CPRF range from one-time efforts to
ongoing mentoring opportunities.
